Gurus vs. Lighthouse Teachers
Your journey to developing your intuitive gifts is as unique as your fingerprint. Just as we all learn differently in traditional education – some through reading, others through practice, and still others through discussion – the path to strengthening our intuition is deeply personal. I’m going to take a minute to discuss the difference between Gurus vs. Lighthouse Teachers.
Have you been following a particular teacher or method but feeling somehow disconnected? Perhaps you’re drawn to meditation but find yourself struggling with traditional sitting practice, or maybe you’re in a group program that doesn’t quite resonate with your natural learning rhythm. This isn’t a sign that you’re doing something wrong – it’s an invitation to pause and reflect.
Take a moment to consider how you best receive and integrate new information in other areas of your life. Do you thrive in community settings, or do you prefer one-on-one guidance? Does your heart sing when you’re journaling and reflecting, or do you come alive during practical exercises? These preferences aren’t random – they’re signposts pointing toward your optimal learning path.
Remember: There’s no universal “right way” to develop your intuition. What works beautifully for one person might feel completely off for another. If you’re following a guru or program that doesn’t align with your natural learning style, it’s okay to step back and reassess. Your intuitive development shouldn’t feel like forcing a square peg into a round hole.
The most supportive communities and teachers will encourage you to honor your unique learning style and pace. They’ll celebrate your questions and explorations rather than insisting on rigid adherence to their way. Trust that inner voice that tells you when something isn’t quite right – it’s already showing you that your intuition is working!
